Tips for Small HomesDecorating a small home can be a challenge and at the same time bring out good results as well. There are several tips for small homes that can subtly change the entire look of your house and make it inviting to you Remember, very home must have all the basic needs- a kitchen that has the holding capacity of your grocery, a refrigerator. And you also need a couple of beds to sleep on, a comfy sofa where you can lounge easily and be comfortable. A television set and an n audio-video system. You also would need a laundry area to accommodate your washings and dryings. In a nutshell, your home must have the basics that meet your needs!

So, how to throw everything together and yet has a comfortable home that looks cozy and not cramped! Small homes have less space and can look crammed up if you fill them up with loads of furniture. Instead choose furniture items that are not gigantic and yet fulfill your basic requirements. Opt for a double sofa that can be converted into a double bed and thus, can serve both the purposes. If you have space that allows for a dressing table that has a mirror and a chest, opt for an ottoman that can be dragged and used while you dress up. This can be pulled and used as a sitting chair as well near the bed. You can also prop up a bedside lamp, if there is space. Since, small home have less space why not use the walls of the rooms. You can choose bed side lamps shades that can be fitted on the wall adjacent to your pillow.

Living happily in smaller spaces requires you to shop wisely and choose the right furniture that blends with your tastes and suits your requirements as well. While decorating a small room, you can choose a large round table that fits the room well and gives it a large appearance. Do not stuff many smaller pieces of furniture that can make your room look like a hurdle race track. Instead buy a couple of larger furniture that may consume more space but still leave few inches here and there. Prefer furniture with slim arms and even armless chairs to give an illusion of lots of it around. Even bolder prints and circles on drapes can make a smaller room look cramped. Instead choose smaller prints on upholstery or curtains that enhance the small space around.

Choosing the right color tone and shade for the walls and ceiling can make a small room appear large. It is a misconception that a dark colored wall or ceiling can make a room appear like a glorified closet! This is not entirely true. You can choose the right color contrast by opting for a dark ceiling with light colored furniture. To give a spacious look in the room, keep fewer objects so that the eye notes only a few of them and finds comfort in its small space.
