When it comes to the health of senior citizens it is very crucial to have a family doctor who is fully aware of the problems that the person is suffering from. The elders should have a comfort level with their doctors so that they can discuss every little problem that they face.
It is important that health diagnostics should be carried on a regular basis like blood pressure, blood sugar, Cardiogram, cholesterol, and so on.
Dealing with pains and aches
Aged people should not neglect any new pain, cram, or ache that develops in their body. It is always better to check with your doctor to ensure that it is not a symptom for anything major.
Old age brings regular pains and ache. However, one should learn how to deal with it rather than becoming bed ridden. It is good to maintain a minimum degree of physical activity in spite of uneasiness.
Physical Activity
People above 60 should learn to accept that their body is no more as active as it was in their 20s. Many people try to fight beyond their body’s capacity without realizing that it can lead to other problems.
Elderly people should learn to strike a good balance between exerting and resting. Any excess can prove to be detrimental.

A person feels physically energetic if he or she is mentally strong. If old people are alone they should join some group or activity where they can interact with like minded people. Feeling of loneliness should be avoided at all cost.
It is the duty of the family members to keep the elderly busy and involved at home. They should feel like a useful family member and their advice should be appreciated.
