Women are faced by multiple problems at every stage of their life. Most of the problems occur between 35-50 years of age. Many problems in females are related to their reproductive organs, hormonal changes, calcium deficiency, and so on. Because women have to play the special role of giving birth to the child and also nurturing the baby, they have to be extra cautious about their health. Thus women health tips are really crucial for every female whether young or old.

Osteoporosis

In USA almost 10 million of the population is estimated to have osteoporosis out of which 8 million are women. Osteoporosis is a disease where the bone gets porous and brittle. The bone becomes easily susceptible to fracture. Thus women who have osteoporosis are at great risk of fracturing their wrist, hip, and vertebral at even slightest jerk or fall.

Deficiency of calcium is the major cause of osteoporosis. To prevent the disease women should take the required amount of calcium either in the form of milk or supplements.

Arthritis

Arthritis is a disease that causes pain and inflammation of joints. In certain cases there is loss of movement of joints too. The major areas of the body affected are wrist, knee joint, back bone, and so on.

Research suggests that women outnumber men in arthritis. Of the nearly 27 million Americans who have osteoarthritis approximately 16 million are women. The common age of women having arthritis is between 25 and 50. However it can start occurring at an early age also.

Arthritis is a genetic disease and most people are likely to develop the problem if it already exists in the family. Breast Cancer

Although it is more common in the post-menopausal age, statistics suggest that 25% of women diagnosed with the disease are younger than 50.

Breast Cancer is caused by changes in DNA that causes cancerous cells in the breast. It is suggested that family history doubles the risk of having breast cancer. However, it is important to note that 70 – 80 percent of women who have breast cancer do not have a family history. Other risk factors are:

  • Early onset of menstruation – before 15 years

  • Prolonged use of birth control pills

    It is not easy to prevent breast cancer but women can decrease the chances of its occurrence or reduce the chance of the disease growing to a fatal stage by the following ways:

  • Reduce smoking

  • Avoid prolonged use of birth control pills

  • Breast feed the baby

  • Going for regular mammogram test after 45

  • Immediately consult the physician in case of any tenderness, knot, or pain in the breast.

    With research and awareness there has been a tremendous decline in the incidence of deaths due to Breast Cancer.

    Women Skin Health

    Women skin is known to be more sensitive than men. Research shows that women are more prone to acne, rash, skin allergies, and other skin diseases. Recently many women are getting exposed to Melanoma or Skin Cancer.

    In USA more than one million cases of skin cancer is diagnosed every year. Research suggests that 1 in 61 women will develop skin cancer in their lifetime. Over exposure to ultraviolet rays is the most common cause of skin cancer.

    Risk factors for Melanoma include:

  • Freckled face

  • More that 50 moles on the skin

  • Very Fair skin

  • Blue or green eyes

  • Family history of skin cancer

    The biggest tip to sane yourself from skin cancer is to reduce exposure to UV rays or sun tanning.

    These are only some of known problems related to women health. A woman is susceptible to many other types of problem. However by following these tips on women health you can take good care of yourself and reduce the chances of diseases if not completely avoid them.
