  • Never add any unknown person in your friend list. Make sure that you always deal with some one you or your parents know. Never respond to any unknown friend request or any type of question that makes you uncomfortable. Let your parents know about such incidents and take their advice on the same.

  • Be careful while uploading photos to your profile or at any public site. Never post any embarrassing photo of your own or anyone else at a public website. This type of photos may be misused by some unwanted person and can lead you into a great problem.

If you think you can trust him/her and want to meet, let your parents or your friends know about it. Inform them about where you go for your meeting and with whom you are going to meet.

  • Never click or respond to unknown and unwanted but attractive links that are sent to you via email. It may be a fake or an unwanted site which is being used by cyber thefts to cheat users using the web. If you’re still tempted to view these sites then ask your parents about it first.

  • Always run a virus scan on all the files that you download from the internet. These files could be a document file or a music file or a video file.
