Air travel could be quite tiresome but with some useful tips the impact could be minimized to a vast extent. These days flying is an essential part of any trip, be it for a holiday or for business purposes.
There are many people who actually dread air travel. There are also people who don’t like air travel thinking that they will reach their destination tired, cramped and cranky. The following air travel tips will minimise the impact of sitting for hours in a plane.

- Drink and eat in moderation: The inside of a plane is a highly pressurised environment which means that the effects of alcohol tend to be more severe at cruising altitude. Be very careful about what you eat and drink on a plane.
- Drink water: Avoid dehydration on the plane by drinking water. The inside of a plane is very dry since the same air is circulated in the plane. You should guard yourself against dehydration by drinking water at any given opportunity.
- Walk about: Walk the aisles. Our muscles react negatively to passivity, which leaves us stiff, sore and bloated after long hours of sitting in one position. By walking about the plane we can avoid stiffness to a great extent.
- Buy noise cancelling headphones: The technology used in the headphones does not only enhance the sound quality of whatever you are listening to, but also actively filters out other sounds.

- Air travellers must carry all aerosols, gels and liquids in 3-ounce or smaller sized containers. It is important that you pack wise for your trip.
- Travel light and take only the essential items along with you. Your hand baggage should only contain items things you may require during the flight.
- You must plan your air travel in advance. Learning about the destination well in advance, best way to reach your destination and the route to take will help you a great deal. It would be wise to use the most economical and shortest routes available.
- Keep important travel documents such as passports and visas in safe custody; carry photocopies just in case you may require the copies.
- If you are prone to air sickness you must inform the flight attendants well in advance. In case of a serious health problem such as heart problems or hypertension, the cabin crew should be intimidated.
- All air travellers must follow all the rules and regulations for air travel. Safety measures administered by the staff and crew within the flight should be carefully understood.
