Children healthy eating tipsChildren need to be given attention, where healthy eating habits are concerned. Children tend to be extremely fussy where eating the right food is concerned. Every parent wants their child to eat right and remain healthy throughout their life. Eating healthy food with the combination of nutrients will help in the boosting up of the immune system. Children healthy eating tips will help the parents identify with food which is required by a child.

Children generally remember what the parent eats and thereby the child will tend to imitate the same food pattern. Never neglect the food habits of your child.

Some Children healthy eating tips are as under:

  1. The best and most suited time to inculcate good eating habits is in the early stages of the growing up years. Bring in green vegetables, instead of ice creams. Provide healthier treats instead of high calorie treats.

  2. Make sure that the daily diet of the child comprises of fresh fruits and green vegetables. Fruits and vegetables are a good source of proteins and nutrients which are required by the child.

  3. Make sure you offer a variety of different food groups to your child. Avoid letting your child getting attached to one food group. Serving variety also helps your child to not get bored.

  4. Refuse, if your child insists to eat while watching television. While watching television your child will tend to eat much more than actually required by the body.

  5. Serve small and frequent portions of food throughout the day to your child. Don’t over stuff your child. Let the child taste the food instead of just swallowing the food. Meals eaten slowly ensure much better digestion, than meals eaten in a hurried manner.

  6. If your child feels hungry at regular intervals, provide your child with nutritional snacks.

  7. Teach your child what comprises of health benefiting foods. Don’t bring junk food items to the house such as: fried chips, pizzas, burgers, pastries, chocolates and cookies.

  8. Try and make tasty meals along with being eye catchy. What one likes to see will make one want to at least taste the same thing. Tempt your child into eating healthy snacks, which also look good to the eye.

  9. Get your child involved in the preparation of meals, by doing so you can instil good eating habits. Instead of added sugar in sweet dishes, include strawberries and water melon, which are sweet in taste as well as healthy.

  10. For calcium and vitamin C, include milk and milk products in the diet such as cheese and Soya nuggets. Give your child orange juice or oranges for a sufficient dose of vitamin C instead of aerated beverages.

A number of chronic diseases in adults such as obesity, diabetes, high blood pressure and heart problems are a resultant of poor diets and poor eating habits. What you exactly eat is what your child will end up eating. When you eat healthy so will your child.

You must inculcate healthy eating choices right in the beginning, so that the child chooses to make healthy choices later on in life.
