Painting can be defined as creation. Painting is creating something unique and putting ones thoughts into action. You can create as well as paint when you actually decide you can achieve creativity in life. Painting often helps to express oneself; the creator can express whatever he may wish through his canvas and choice of colours. It is a well known fact that every colour has a visual effect.

- You must always remember that painting is an art and one should never be hesitant to start painting. Painting is a combination of a method which must be followed faithfully as well as honestly.
- Patience is the key principle to be followed for any art; you shouldn’t aim for a hurried result. Paint takes long to dry either for acrylics or oil, hence be patient.
- Ensure that you deal with the best and most suited equipments before you start painting. For painting the foremost requirement is supreme quality.
- To start with painting the main requirement is a good quality paintbrush and a smooth canvas. If you use a poor quality canvas it could tear and a poor quality paintbrush can spoil your painting by giving way while in use.
- If you require guidance before your foray into painting, get to know a mentor who has perfected the art of painting. Knowing an artist who is already in the same field will be of great help, as he could give you first hand painting tips.
- Your mentor can also assist you in the materials required, such as, the appropriate amount of paint to be used, the right canvas, what colours are to be used etc,. With your mentor being around you can understand and gain knowledge about painting and understand better what an artist actually experiences while painting and what he feels after completing his work of art.
Be with yourself at times; let your thought process blossom. Take a break from painting to gain inspiration. You could go for a walk, swim, and listen to some soothing music to calm your mind.
Another tip to gain fruitful inspiration for painting could be being surrounded by nature. Nature has a very positive effect on the mind. It helps in soothing out the senses and removing tension from the mind, body and soul.
You must stay away from the world and take a break from routine everyday life. You may sometimes gain inspiration from unknown sources which could turn out to be overwhelming. Relax and rejuvenate yourself. Rejuvenation can bring about a positive effect in any field of art and life.

Painting takes time; it takes time to paint maybe a month or two to even a year. You must remember that learning the perfect art of painting may take number of years, but it is always worth the effort to see the result.
