 Your home is a place where you spend most of the time and hence you need to put in some effort to make it a peaceful and beautiful haven. It’s very easy to get carried away while planning the decor for your home, thereby turning it into an expensive and horrid affair. Also, sometimes you have no clue as in how to make your home look great and unique. Here are some tips on home decor which will help you through your journey of decorating your home.
Firstly see what you have, see what you can keep and what you can throw. You will also need to set a budget, in case you need to buy furniture and other home decor items.
Sit and decide on what colors and shapes you like. Remember, since it’s ‘your home’ it should reflect your personality. Think of it as your wardrobe. Try to re-arrange your furniture now and then, so that you don’t get bored of the same look.
Get in some indoor plants, this will not only brighten up the room but will also improve the quality of the air in your home.
Use natural light as much as you can during the day. It makes your room bright and big.
Use wall decor to bring life to your bland walls. There are so many options in the market to decorate your walls. If you’re creative you can create your own wall paintings or hangings – this will give a personal touch.
Personalize your space by adding photographs of you and your family and friends. This will give anyone visiting your house, an idea of who ‘you’ are.
Add lamps and candles to give an elegant and soft look to your space. Soft lights are great to set up a romantic ambience as well.
Do-up your bedroom with equal zest, as this is the room where you retrieve for rest. So your bedroom should also be comfortable, sober and inviting.
